Brian Eno Encourages Backing to Get Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.
A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign hopes to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.
A Possibility for Support and an "Chart Upset"
Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.
âIt would be incredible if that occurred, yes,â he commented. âI won't be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.â
Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.
âThe song holds a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,â Barghouti shared. âThe message is that I would prefer a dignified death than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we merit as a people.â
Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup
The single was laid down in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the piece was cut from the show due to the event running long.
The notable list of performers featured on Lullaby features a selection of well-known figures from the scene. All participated in the September show, which reportedly raised a considerable total for charitable causes.
Final Touches and Availability
Lullaby was crafted by a trio of music creators. The single showcases a mix of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.
The group managing the campaign have stated that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an non-profit partner.
âWe donât have a specific target,â a spokesperson said. âWe will pursue the maximum achievable. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to Gaza.â
The situation in the area was characterized as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of infrastructure said to be destroyed or damaged.
âGiven that reality, a few million doesnât make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating that another narrative exists.â
The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the solidarity show will be made available for streaming on a digital service from mid-December.
