Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
