Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international break, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only away victory this season came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

My son told me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
