Iran Reports Assault on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
It said debris fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
