Curtis Jones has revealed that Salah apologised to the team after the controversy from his recent interview.

The Incident

Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following criticising the club and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”

The manager has refused to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.

Looking Ahead

The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.

Jones also noted that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”

Positive Results

Their results have remained strong in the matches since the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to destabilise the squad.

“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a good place,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, performing and on a positive run.”
