Netflix Chooses Perfect Performer for Bentham in One Piece Third Season
Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the major clash won’t take place until the next season, and a adored, popular member has recently been selected.
The platform declared recently that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bentham. Bon Clay possesses the power to morph into an exact copy of anyone they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a rendition of that role re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action series, unlike the original manga and cartoon version.
The new cast member is joined by several other new cast members who will portray Baroque Works to the screen, featuring leader Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the well-known actor, an emerging star as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.
Though Bon Clay is a major member of Baroque Works, the individual won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Given the second season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this signals a significant shift in the schedule of the character’s debut, one that could indicate more adjustments to the story’s structure.
Their mix of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the character. Besides their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is set to return for its next installment on March 10, 2026.
