Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
US performer Finn, who appeared in beloved television series including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his relatives said in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six called "Beer Shark Mice".
"He guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted online.
The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
