The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with employing the total value of seized Russian funds to bolster Ukraine's military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to participate in talks.

They added that the move would be carried out in tight collaboration with the United States.

UK sanctions have frozen over £25bn of Russian resources since Moscow initiated its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, previously, resources sent to Ukraine using Russian holdings had solely been taken from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their aim to drive progress toward utilizing the total worth of the immobilized Russian sovereign holdings to conclude the conflict.

He noted that more measures over the next period would heighten the tension on Moscow.

This declaration is subsequent to European Union representatives gathered in the Danish capital last week to consider using seized Russia's funds for a €140bn credit to Ukraine.

Last month, US President Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to confiscate or employ seized Russia's assets, according to media sources.

The value of seized Russian holdings in the Europe is estimated to be almost €211bn.

Moscow launched extensive aerial attacks across Ukraine on that day, leading to electricity outages in many areas of the capital city, the city, and multiple additional areas.

Two people were lost their lives and a minimum of 20 people were wounded in the assault, Ukrainian officials said.

In a post on social media after the incident, Zelensky commented that the premeditated assault aimed at public and utility structures.

"What is required is not mere statements but decisive action - from the United States, the European Union, and the G7 - in providing defense mechanisms and enforcing sanctions," he stated.

"Each restrictive measure diminishes the Russian war effort," Zelensky declared, in a different message.

Additionally that day, Zelensky told media outlets he would urge Sir Keir to join the weapons procurement scheme, under which Nato countries purchase arms from the United States to donate to Ukraine.

While praising the UK's strong support for the Ukrainian government, he remarked it should send a clear signal that it would participate in the program, as well as apply further sanctions on Moscow.
